Hemos recibido la triste y
lamentable noticia del fallecimiento de CARLIUS
TORSTEN, acaecida ayer en la ciudad de Shangai como
consecuencia de un ataque cardíaco.
Quien fuera en vida presidente
de WMA hasta la Asamblea de San Sebastian, desempeñaba
actualmente el cargo de Secretario en la Asociacion Mundial
de Atletas Master - WMA. Acompañó la propuesta argentina del
Mundial 100K desde el primer momento y sumó su entusiasmo
cuando nos escribió:
"...Estoy muy feliz
de confirmar que nuestro Campeonato Mundial Master 100K WMA
2005 es para CAVRA y será realizado en la ciudad de
Bariloche el 11 de diciembre. Será sin dudar un gran éxito.
Estamos también muy felices porque este será la primera vez
que tendremos un Campeonato Mundial WMA en South America ya
que por mucho tiempo tratamos de conseguir..."
A pocos dìas de nuestro esperado
encuentro con él en Bariloche, esta noticia nos deja aún mas
desconsolados porque esperabamos poder agradecerle en
persona la confianza que depositó en la dirigencia Argentina
cuando tuvo que decidir sobre el Mundial de Ultramaraton WMA
2005 que resignaba Lake Saroma, Japon.
El Mundial de Ultramaraton
seguirá su curso como Carlius lo hubiera exigido: respetando
el esfuerzo de muchos atletas que en el mundo ya tienen sus
valijas preparadas para venir a nuestro país a cumplir un
plan de competencia que cerrará el año deportivo de WMA
2005.
El Presidente de WMA Sr. Cesare
Becalli y el Vice Presidente de Ruta Sr Brian Keaveney luego
de este suceso lamentable, han confirmado su arribo a la
Argentina como estaba planificado desde San Sebastian para
el día 9 de diciembre.
La Confederación Atletas
Veteranos de la República Argentina, rendirá un especial
homenaje recordatorio al Sr. Carlius Torsten en la ciudad de
San Carlos de Bariloche.

With great sadness we inform you,
the death of TORSTEN of CARLIUS, happened
yesterday in the city of Shangai like the consequence of a
heart attack.
Who was in life, president of
WMA until San Sebastian's Assembly, it carried out the
Secretarial position at the moment in the World Association
of Athletes Master - WMA. It accompanied the Argentinean
proposal of the World CHAMPIONSHIPS 100K from the first
moment and it added their enthusiasm when he wrote us:

staged in the city of Bariloche on December 10 and am sure

we will have a WMA World Championships in South America that

To few days of our prospective
encounter with him in Bariloche, this news still leaves us
but forlorn because we hoped to be able to thank him in
person the trust that deposited in the leadership Argentina
when he had to decide on the World of Ultramaraton WMA 2005
that resigned Lake Saroma, Japan.
The World of
Ultramaraton will follow their course as Carlius it
had demanded it: respecting the effort of many athletes
that they already have their prepared baggages to come to
our country to complete a competition plan, that he will
close the sport year of WMA 2005 in the world.

The Confederation Veteran
Athletes of the Republic Argentina, will surrender a special
homage reminder to the Mr. Carlius Torsten in the city of
San Carlos Bariloche.
